This logistically and artistically highly demanding project was titled “markiewicz goes alpine”. For the first time, our team worked in the Swiss Alps at over 2100 metres above sea level. The staircase extends over four stories and impresses with its symbiosis of natural stone and elegant, curved oak wood. The artistic highlight is the braided and hand-carved banister, which wonderfully flatters the hands that touch it. Together with our project partner and client, Deutsche Werkstätten Hellerau, architect Karsten Sippel and designer Jacques Garcia, we look with pride at this piece of art at mountainous heights.
